Autism Awareness Meeting 3/21/11

Today we were thrilled to host some lovely guest speakers at our FEA meeting who discussed the challenges and rewards of working with students with special needs. This was a wonderful sampling of the Autism Awareness Day that we will be hosting on April 15th.

Shadow Marathon! 

This week, the FEA is holding a shadow marathon in which all members will be observing Freedom teachers! The students are super excited to be learning some effective techniques from Freedom's finest! Thanks to all involved for their support! 

FEA Movie Days! 

This December, the FEA is holding special Movie Day Mondays! We are watching and analyzing Freedom Writers, a film about an optimistic teacher who gets an unexpected wake up call at an intercity school and resorts to an unconventional method of reaching her students. This Monday, we viewed the first half of the movie, and the next Monday after the holiday break we will watch the second half. All are welcome to join for snacks and fun! 

Competed Teacher Dedication Wall!

The Teacher Dedication Wall is complete! All of our members worked hard to prepare this as a gift for our teachers and a reminder of how much we value them. Thanks for all of your help! 

Member Competition!

On November 8th, the FEA will be hosting a Membership Drive Meeting! 
Each member will strive to bring guests with them to this special meeting and will have an opportunity to win a gift card.
